Hello everybody, I am Joël Vuik and welcome to ‘Chasing a Countertenor’. A podcast taking you alongside a journey of a Countertenor's life and it’s conundrums and all the baroqueness extravaganza that comes with it. In this podcast I will talk about how I go about roles and opera's in learning them, listening to them and enjoying them. I will also talk about topics from that time frame and connect them with the issues of today like homophobia, sexism, racism, misogyny, radical religion and many other themes we struggle with. For instance why is crossdressing on stage okay, but on the street it is still considered nuts or even disgusting? All serious matters we need to tackle...
